Overview
Desert Dreams is a hand-drawn hijab design created for the Ramadan 2026 VELA collection, Between Dusk & Dawn. Built on a soft beige base, the print weaves together motifs of tasbeeh, palm trees, dates, jasmine flowers, olive branches, and desert landscapes to create a quiet, layered narrative. The goal was to design a piece that feels both intentional and effortless.
Problem
Designing for Ramadan means walking a fine line. Pieces need to feel meaningful, but still effortless to wear. It’s easy for designs to become either too literal or too minimal. The challenge was to create something that feels intentional and expressive, while still blending naturally into everyday styling.
Solution
Each motif was hand-drawn and intentionally added into the print to create a layered narrative and visual. Instead of relying on bold contrast, the design builds depth through tone and texture. Set on a warm neutral base and executed in a lightweight modal fabric, the result is a scarf that feels beautifully detailed and easy to wear.
